Adam hosts the Norman Goldman Show and discusses “Black Friday” a frenzied day of consumerism. Everyone knows that on this day businesses finally go into the ‘black’ and turn a profit. But, Is this pace of consumerism sustainable?
Adam recommends the 1976 Best Picture of the Year “Network.” This movie was the inpiration for the “Mad as Hell” concept. If you haven’t seen it, then put it at the top of your ‘Must See’ movie list.
Adam talks with Lee camp “The Che Guevera of Comedy.” (Learn more at leecamp.net) He is a comedian, political writer, and an actor. Lee brings his “Moment of Clarity” to the show in which he rants about the UC Davis pepper spraying incident, the Occupy Movement, and Kevin Bacon.
Adam’s second guest is Kevin Zeese from october2011.org He is know as the “Father of the Occupy Movement.” He was an organizer of the “Occupy Washington D.C. MOvement,” a co-director of “It’s Our Economy!” which seeks to democratize the economy, and co-chair of “Come Home America” which brings people from across the political spectrum together, who oppose war and militarism.
Adam’s third guest is Dr. Margaret Flowers. She is a Maryland physician, who has advocated for single payer health reform for years. She is a part of Physicians for a National Health Program. (Healthcarenow.org) She was a part of the Baucus 8, who were arrested for disrupting a senate finance committee for demanding to testify on behalf of single payer reforms.
Adam continues the discussion with Kevin Zeese and Dr. Margaret Flowers for the beginning of the third hour. Adam poses the question, “Is our democratic system too broken to change and address the demands of its citizens?”
In the final segment of the show Adam invites Cat Jarboe and Al Nowakowski, Associate Producers from the “Mad as Hell in America” show to do the world premier of the “Progressive Update” The “Progressive Update” is a comedic look at the week’s news. Cat and Al take a poke at “Black Friday”, the UC Davis pepper spraying incident, and the Egyptian Occupy Movement.
